Various Types Of Bespoke Fitted Wardrobes

In many houses, the wardrobe is one of the most important parts of a bedroom. As is the case with most things, different people want different things from a wardrobe. Fortunately, there are plenty of options out there when it comes to wardrobes. The following are the four main choices.

Fitted Sliding Door Wardrobes

Sliding wardrobes are known to be the most modern and sophisticated type of wardrobe in the interior design market. The biggest benefit of a sliding wardrobe is the extra space you create by utilising them. Since they are usually floor to ceiling, extra storage can be fitted above your hanging space. Fitting a sliding door wardrobe into an alcove in a room is a great way to utilise an often wasted space. Sliding doors also mean that space isn’t required for opening the doors outwards.

Hinged Door Wardrobes

Hinged wardrobes represent tradition and class. Together with a Shaker style, you can make your bedroom a very English styled atmosphere. Very commonly used in older homes, hinged doors are presumably the most affordable out of all the fitted wardrobes styles.

Walk-In Wardrobes

Walk in wardrobes are the ultimate luxury when it comes to clothes storage. For people who are certainly into fashion and collect an enormous amount of clothing over time, walk-in wardrobes can be the perfect solution. A standard walk-in wardrobe would have hanging and storage space on every side with perhaps a bench in the middle. Walk-in closets are the most useful and versatile of the four options and can in most cases be designed to the perfect spec for any given user.

Free-Standing Wardrobes

Even though these are not bespoke and fitted, they are the main “go-to” wardrobes whenever you first begin to think about purchasing cupboards. Very popular and easy to move around a room, they are incredibly handy to own. Unfortunately, because they are store-bought and often mass-produced, you are not able to uniquely custom-make them to your requirements like sliding, hinged and walk-in wardrobes. They cannot be made to measure to fit into awkward slopes and angles as well which makes them the least favourite on our list.
